RSS calls for creating universally acceptable education model
NAGPUR: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for creating a new
education model acceptable to all, drawing from India's rich ancient
past when the country was a great centre of learning.
People are not happy with the education system and there is a worldwide view that the ways of teaching and learning require a comprehensive change, Bhagwat said addressing a gathering of academicians here last night.

The Entire Education Systems needs to be overhauled, Primary, secondary Post secondary and higher secondary. Too much emphasis has been historically placed on learning by rote memory a lot of information. The faculty of critically thinking on such information has been allowed to rot. Further the study of history has been lop sided. Justice has not at all been done on the contributions of Ancient indian Texts particularly the vedas, Yoga Vasistha, Ramayan and Mahabharat. The Yoga vasistha is being relived by findings in Modern Physics. The study of Mind Body medicine is again being validated by modern Medicine. It has its roots in Ayurveda. We need visionary educationists who can effectively correlate Ancient indian Texts with findings in Modern medicine, Physics, life styles etc. The run of the mill stale socialists secularists historians are not worth their weight in junk. They are thoroughly discredited. They are living in a time wrap. The new education should include effective exposure to hands on experiences to develop various skills of mind motor, sense inputs etc. Learning should become an effective lively exciting experience and not a dull half dead drudgery like it is with most school going children today.
